I like the categories that this gives 3x bonuses on, such as Internet, Phone, Cable, as my other cards don't give bonuses in that area. The annual fee is $95, which isn't bad, but is more than made up for with the 80,000 bonus points that I get (and you can too) when signing up for the card.Meepster17's Referral Link

I think the main draw of this card is that it is a "starter" card for most students, but everyone can use the card for the 5% bonus categories.Notes
Discover was my first credit card, and I like that it is accessible to newer people with thin credit histories. It gives 5% cash back bonuses in rotating categories, so there really are options to consistently get higher than normal cash back.Meepster17's Referral Link

I think this card is a keeper for the no annual fee and the 2x MR. I got it as my first started MR points card, and I think it is a great decision. It also offers the 0% interest promo, which can be taken advantage of easily enough, without harming your personal credit report (utilization doesn't show on personal).Meepster17's Referral Link

I think the Sapphire Preferred is a card that many people could get and keep for the travel benefits, without paying the higher annual fee of the Reserve. It is also great for dining at earning 3x!Meepster17's Referral Link

This card gets a good bonus points per spend on Hilton stays as well as 6X points on a variety of other categories. It immediately gives you Complimentary Gold status with Hilton, which can be nice, especially if traveling internationally.Meepster17's Referral Link
